artist biography

Julie Dumbarton was born in Lancashire and studied Fine Art painting at Loughborough University in 1996.

After graduation Julie moved to Cumbria, drawing inspiration from the peaks, lakes and fellsof this uniquely beautiful area. After moving to the Scottish borders Julie introduced a completely new dimension to her work and her contemporary floral paintings are now much sought after.

Painting in a former bakehouse, Julie's vibrant canvases are a wealth of colour and energy and reflecy her passion for painting. "............colur is the essence of all my painting!" says Julie
