D. Newbould
Pastel Drawings |
David Newbould was born near Castleford during the Second World War. Schooled locally and a proud Yorkshire man he served an apprenticeship as an electrician but his love of Jazz and art was destined to change his life entirely.
He is self-taught and his chosen medium is pastel although he does enjoy experimenting in water-colour. The vibrancy and emotion that he brings to his subjects is quite unique and is that is apparent in his paintings, in particular musicians.
He is now an established portrait painter and resident artist at many of the major U.K. Jazz Festivals. David has a continuous exhibition of original paintings at Ronny Scott's Jazz Club in London.
